Tuomi * Hagberry bird cherry

Kun kukkaan puhkeaa tuomi
ja sen tuoksut ilman täyttää,
silloin kevättä juhlii Suomi
ja kauneutensa kansoille näyttää.

Tuomen valkoiset kukkaset
vasten taivaan sineä piirtyy.
Suo vihreä ruoho lumelle rukkaset,
kun routa pois maasta siirtyy.

Niin lyhyt on keväinen riemu,
niin hetkessä kaikki on ohi.
Ehditkö nähdä, mikä on kevään sielu,
kun se hetken luonamme oli?

Tuomen kukkien terälehdet maahan
valkeana lumena sataa.
Kevään tuoksuista ja sulosta nauttia saahan,
vaikka vuosi tauotta jatkaa rataaa.

When the bird cherry begins to be in flower,
and lovely scents are smelling in the air,
it's the time of our summer party,
for the nature bears it's beauty.

Look at the white flowers of the tree
against the sky, high and blue.
Sense the green grass under your feet
growing thick, feeling soft and cool.

It's past again so quickly,
the spring lasts few day and night.
Did you see the soul of light,
when it visited us recently?

Again the petals of the hagberry
are falling on the ground.
Don't be so sad and sorry,
but enjoy the year all around.
